Biography

Shallini graduated with a law degree from the University of London with Honours in 2001. Thereafter, having successfully obtaining her Certificate of Legal Practice in 2003, she commenced her pupillage in an established and notable firm in Penang representing various banking and financial institutions. Upon successful completion of her pupillage, she was then enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2004.

Prior to joining the Firm, Shallini practiced at several leading law firms with the most notable being Messrs Paul Chong & Nathan, amongst others, working extensively with several leading financial institutions and also corporate and commercial conveyances.

Shallini has extensive experience in providing advise to corporate clients on various commercial and corporate matters including sale and purchase of businesses and companies, shareholders’ rights and commercial tenancies just to name a few. Apart from her advisory role, she also plays a crucial role to our Business Partners in drafting, vetting and reviewing commercial agreements such as Teaming Agreements, JV Agreements, Sale of Business Agreements, Investment Agreements, Friendly Loan Agreements, Inter-Co related Agreements, MOUs and even Settlement Agreements, just to name a few.

In keeping up to date with the changing and emerging trends of the business today, Shallini is also focuses on the tech-era and is appointed by our Business Partners to assist in drafting, vetting and reviewing the various IT commercial contracts such as license subscription agreements, preventive maintenance agreements, SaaS Agreements, E-Commerce Agreements, NonDisclosure Agreements, Software Development Agreements and other similar agreements.

Shallini also advises our Business Partners on IR and employment related matters on a retainer or ad hoc basis with the assistance from the Legal Associates at the Firm.

Whilst her focus is mainly on the corporate and commercial conveyance aspect of things and not wanting to merely limit herself, Shallini also from time to time take on briefs and represent our Business Partners in family and probate matters, whether contested or otherwise, and matters relating to business conflicts and contractual disputes.

Shallini brings extensive experience in her field of expertise and provides added value to the Firm and loves the idea of tackling new challenges as she relishes taking on “the bull by its horns”.
